  • Food and treat donations for ALL species of companion animals, and cat litter (scoopable preferred), for The Pet Food Pantry of Berks County.
  • Front-attach, no-pull harnesses (Freedom, Sensation, Easy Walk type) and head collars (Halti, Gentle Leader type) for a program to trade choke, prong, and shock collars for humane devices.
  • Regular harnesses, buckle collars, martingales, and non-chain, non-retractable leashes.
  • Monetary donations or gift/phone cards to fund a phone line or cell phone service. This will provide access for those unable to afford internet service.
  • Small dog houses and straw (not hay) for feral cats.
  • Gift cards to grocery, pet supply, discount, and hardware stores.
  • Coupons for food, treats, litter, and other animal-related items.
  • Toys, especially Nylabone Durables and other sturdy toys that won’t tear into small pieces. Tennis balls, cat toys of all types, rope tugs, and catnip. NO RAWHIDE, please.
  • Gently-used beds, crates, scratching posts, and cat trees. (Blankets, sheets, towels, shredded paper, and newspapers should be taken to the Animal Rescue League.)

  • Flea and tick products. We prefer safe, effective ones like Advantage, Advantix, Vectra, Capstar, and Seresto, but we will take all offers  – including products to treat the home.
  • Tie-outs for dogs that do not have fenced yards. These will NOT be distributed to families who plan to keep their dogs outdoors 24/7.
  • Stain and odor removers and carpet shampoo, like Simple Solution or Nature’s Miracle.
  • Training treat pouches for future classes. The inexpensive canvas tool belts available at local hardware stores work great.
  • Clickers for clicker training.
  • New or gently-used Classic Kongs, Extreme Kongs, Kong Wobblers, Buster Cubes, and other food-dispensing toys for dogs with separation anxiety or destructive behavior.
  • Feliway or Comfort Zone plug-ins for cats that are having housesoiling or other anxiety issues.
  • Soft Paws or other nail caps for destructive cats.kong
  • Litter boxes, litter and poop scoops, wee wee pads, food storage containers, dishes/bowls, and other feeding/watering (and other end) supplies.
  • Grooming supplies is usable condition, such as combs (flea and regular), brushes, nail trimmers, nail grinders, clippers, shampoo, conditioner, and styptic powder. Partial containers welcome.
  • Chew and lick deterrents (Bitter Apple, Yuck!).
